 Mt. Olive, Illinois, a small town with a population of just over 2,000, is located in Macoupin County, Illinois on Historic Old Route 66.    Mt. Olive has a rich coal mining history and was home to the famous labor and community organizer known as Mother Jones.  Located in the historic Union Minor's Cemetery in Mt. Olive is the Mother Jones Monument, a must-see especially for those who find the labor movement an important part of our U.S. history.

Mt. Olive School District #5, located at 804 W. Main Street in Mt. Olive, offers education for children in grades K-12.  Students in Mt. Olive also have the opportunity to attend a private parochial school, Mount Olive Lutheran School.

Mt. Olive has small town charm, but is located just minutes away from Litchfield, and less than an hour's drive from St. Louis.
